Meet The Duecks

Hi, we’re Landon and Eva Dueck. 

We love being outside and admiring nature. We are also the proud parents of two beautiful girls, who have taken after our love of the outdoors and were a big part of why we started Burning Timber in the first place.

Landon has been in working with trees for the last six years and what started as a job quickly bloomed into much more than that, it became a passion. After honing his skills and gaining valuable experience with one of the bigger tree companies, Landon attained his ISA certification in pursuit of growing something of his own. Landon is also a serving member of the Calgary Fire Department allowing him plenty of time to spend both in the trees and with his family.

Eva is pursuing a counselling degree online, while also helping raise our girls. She also plays a crucial role in business’ day to day. Without Eva caring for our children and giving Landon the space he needs to focus the hands-on aspects of tree care, this business would not be able to thrive. Burning Timber will always be a family-run operation because it was through support from family that it was built.

Our Difference

The health of your trees is our top priority and while this is not unique to us as a tree care provider, what does makes us different is our approach. Other companies will come to your property, do the work, and then leave. They are the holders of the experience and knowledge. 

We want to provide you with the confidence and understanding to care for your trees after we’re gone. This is only accomplished through sharing our knowledge with you, so that you can do your part to keep your trees healthy, even after we’ve left.

We also want to ensure that you understand all of we what are both doing and not doing for your trees. When you request a quote from us, we will outline the scope of work needed and why it is necessary. We will also answer any questions leading up to, during, and after work is completed thoroughly, so you can be satisfied and understand your trees better at the end of the day.

Through our variety of services we will provide your trees with the care that really need, whether that be some love through pruning to bring them back to health or removing them completely to maintain the the wellbeing of the rest of your property. ISA Certified


Through years of on-the-job training and mentorship, Landon was able to obtain his ISA – or International Society of Arboriculture – certification. Recertification through the ISA is required every three years and includes a commitment to remain up to date and engaged with the new insights from within the arboriculture community. We maintain a commitment to continue the pursuit of a greater understanding of trees, their environments, and their needs.
