The How
A deep root injection is a fertilizer treatment where a probe is inserted into the ground at various points around the tree’s root structure. A pressurized solution is then injected into the soil to deliver nutrients and water, breaking up the soil and allowing the solution to be more easily absorbed.
The Why
Urban environments don’t always lend themselves to being what a tree needs to flourish, especially when it comes to nutrients. Though soil composition differs from place to place, our fertilizer is designed specifically to support the natural nutrients already found in the soil here, making it ideal for most trees in the Calgary area. DRIs are only done between spring and fall.

Deep Root Injection FAQs
DRIs can be done up to twice a year. Once in the spring and then again in the fall, though even just one injection will still provide many benefits to your tree. While DRIs are a great way to help boost the overall health of your trees, they should not replace regular watering, which can often be overlooked.
No, DRIs do not damage your lawn. DRIs create only a small hole in the ground and are minimally invasive, going into the soil below the grass to deliver the nutrients directly to the tree instead of the grass.
